Return to Beauty

curated by Vipoo Srivilasa

Return to Beauty features work by Kris Coad, Glenn Barkley, Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran, Alana Wilson, Julie Pennington, Amy Kennedy, Alice Couttoupes and Helen Fuller.

The exhibition explores the traditional concept of traditional blue and white porcelain, and the idea of returning to this traditional Chinese aesthetic.

These vessels seek to further explore the culture of the vessel in China, referencing riutal bronze vessels dating from 1650 BCE in the Chinese Bronze Age. Heavily textured surfaces reference decaying bronze alongside the traditional blue and white palette.
